What is your name and location?

Sadiya. New York.

How do you heal people?

I heal people by offering them space and guidance through yoga practice.

What type of benefits does your method of healing provide?

A regular yoga practice results in increased flexibility, both body and mind. A greater sense of strength both physically and emotionally. A grounding and confidence in who you are, and your place in the world. And just an overall healthy body.

When did you realize that you wanted to heal people/why did you start?

I realized very young that I was a healer. But my focus was on animals. As I got older the focus shifted to people. My first yoga class was amazing. I could not believe how great I felt. I wanted to feel that way all the time, as well as help others feel the same.

Why is what you do so important?

What I do is important because women especially need that time and space. They need a safe zone where they can break and allow themselves to come back together. To be open, to breathe deeply, to move their bodies, to release stagnant energy. To feel whole and complete.

What is your inspiration to continue doing what you are doing?

I feel like our world is hurting. We need a sense of peace and that must begin on an individual level.

What is the fuel that keeps you going?

The fuel that keeps me going is my son. He needs me. I need to be physically, mentally and emotionally strong in order to raise him in the world we are living in today. I chose a profession that not only benefits me, but others on a deeper level as well.

How does it make you feel when you are healing people?

Its an amazing feeling. I feel connected, loved and appreciated. I know that what I’m doing is needed.

What are your visions and/or goals?

One of my major goals is to open my own facility. Once my formal education is complete I would love to practice Yoga Therapy with a focus on young women.

Tell us a fun fact about what it is that you do, or something people may not know.

I used to love creating really fun playlists for class. Now I have found so much joy in practicing/teaching in silence. Enjoying the sounds of breathing and creeks in the floor.

In one sentence, what is your message to the world?

Live light, love heavy, and be well.

Is there is anything else that you would like to share about yourself or what it is that you do?

I also have a YouTube channel. I share mostly tips on simplifying your life/ minimalism, a plant based diet as well as my love for all natural skin care. Soon I will be adding full yoga classes to the channel as well.
