Steamy hot baths have become a staple in my life. Hot baths have carried me through good days, bad days, days I felt I was coming into my own and nights on which I couldn't tell the difference between my tears and the steam melting away on my cheeks. It seems as though there is nothing better than running yourself a hot bath, leaving everything that troubles you behind the bathroom door and taking some time out for yourself. The healing and cleansing power of water coupled with the warmth and loneliness that envelopes you is powerful enough to help you sort through and come to terms with many things that need healing in yourself, your relationships and your life.
The journey to self love has been a long and difficult one. Rewarding when I find my...
Cranes in the sky is a powerful song which Solange explains; captures feelings of self-doubt, self-pity and a sense of emptiness that most people experience at different stages of their lives. We are taken on a journey of all the things one might do to get rid of these feelings. Things we cut out, habits we start to adopt, all in an attempt to distract ourselves from our pain, but still it lingers on.
“I tried to let go my lover/thought if I was alone then maybe I could recover”
This line from the song sticks out to me because perhaps one of the things we all reach to when we enter a space of healing is to reject love and distance ourselves from relationships. We make ourselves believe that we need to be alone, that healing will only fall into pla...

What does that look like for you? If you were to surrender to the whispers of your heart.
How does one do such a thing? Where does one start?
Well, one can always start with getting quiet. This can look like whatever feels good to you. You can sit, stand, squat, lay on the floor – find what feels good to the body.
Rest in the chosen position for a few breath cycles. For those who need a tangible number, do 6 rounds of slowly breathing in (expanding your chest + belly) through the nose then slowly release the breath out the mouth.
Be still and listen. If you have thoughts that arise and may pull you out of the moment, i.e. “I wonder what, such and such posted on Instagram.” “I’m hungry, I think.” “This is a waste of time.” Etc., it doesn’t...
It never ceases to amaze me how the Universe loves to teach me lessons through other people. These people come at the oddest times when I never expect their arrival or the role they will eventually play in my life. Love has been one of my biggest teachers yet. I fell in love one day but little did I know my whole perspective on love, relationships, and Self would ultimately change for the better.
So I met this tall brown man one fall afternoon, and we connected immediately. We started to date and gradually began to spend a lot of time together. A connection slowly began to grow, and a friendship arose with no expectations of a serious relationship. We both allowed ourselves to flow with the Universe and open up to one another in an attempt to fin...
"When all you see is your pain, you lose sight of Me."
Communication is an emotional strength.
Communication is an spiritual realization & experience.
Communication is the bridge of the heart and mind.
In order to have the heart and mind in one accord, you must speak. Speak your truth which is God's Truth. For this is alignment; this is what that means. Prayer and meditation, one in the same, yet paradoxically used in different ways, is the strongest form of communication. Being able to be in the silence is where you can hear God communicate back to you abundantly; real conversations.
And also in that silence you are able to cry if you need too. Cry to release all pains and sufferings this human world has faced you with. When you cry, you release so...
